Men’s Health & Well Being Programme- The course is open to men who are interested in looking at the issues which have an impact on their lives. The course is open to men from all walks of life. No prior qualifications are needed just a willingness to be personally involved and to interact with others. If you are interested in developing your awareness of yourself and of how you are in today’s world, in talking about what is important to you, and in understanding how you relate and communicate with others, and how you manage stress, then this course could be for you. Join with other men in discussing these issues 

Women’s Health & Well Being- The course is open to all Women interested in exploring together issues that are relevant to their lives and in particular to their physical and emotional health.   The course will focus on exploring and demystifying health issues and on prevention of ill-health.   The course focuses on the giving of information, exploring attitudes and imparting skills. The course involves a mixture of discussion, sharing of experiences, input from the course tutor and practice in such things as communicating assertively, relaxation techniques etc. 

Effective Communication  Build self-esteem and develop skills and awareness to improve communication in ways that enhance the quality of life and relationships. 

Introduction to Personal Development- Explore issues affecting emotional well-being and growth, including the management of feelings, stress, listening, communication and relationships. This course offers people a place to build their self-confidence and to discover more about themselves and their ways of relating with people in a safe, friendly and enjoyable environment. 

Introduction to Ceramics- Learn to create your own work of art in a creative, social and positive environment, On this course you will learn different carving techniques over an 8 week period producing your own finished clay slab –rolled relief carvings.  There is a materials charge for this course of €35 which can be paid in weekly installments

Proof may be required.  Numbers are limited on these courses max 10-12, however if we cannot facilitate you on this term, we can put your name on a waiting list for the next term. 

Writers Group

The writing group meet every Thursday afternoon from 2.00pm- 4.00pm. where members use the space to write stories, share stories, talk about ideas for new stories and strategies for writing. It is a safe and open space where informal chat and writing happens over a cup of tea. The group recently published a compilation of 46 original texts called ‘Easy-going writing’ in December 2014 and hope to do another publication in 2016. New Beginnings Group

This group meet every Thursday afternoon from 2.oopm -4.00pm. The members of this group came from two courses which ran in the centre called ‘Caring for our Wellbeing’ These courses were for people who were, or had experienced mental health challenges in their life and were working on their recovery. It’s an informal meeting where existing members meet and have a cup of tea, they offer peer support, a social outlet and may do some relaxation, an activity or organise an outing. Crochet Group

This group meets every Monday morning from 11.00am-12.30pm.  This is a space where you can learn simple crochet techniques under the skilled guidance of tutor Sylvia O' Connor, Please contact us for more information.
